About this Design
A delicate and detailed illustration of a small bird perched on a branch. The bird has soft, fluffy feathers with hints of green and brown, and a subtle yellow patch on its head. Its beak is small and pointed, and its eyes are beady and expressive. The design captures the intricate textures of the feathers, giving the bird a lifelike appearance.
@lorendowding
Colourful drawing of a goldcrest, this drawing was inspired by my first time seeing a goldcrest whilst out walking in nature, there was a pair of them flitting around a bush next to the path and I was enchanted watching them! I made this illustration using ink pens on Bristol board. I later added colour to my drawing using alcohol marker pens, layering this on top of my ink drawing. Goldcrests (Regulus regulus) are the smallest European bird and are recognisable by the gold crown of feathers on the top of their head. These tiny birds have olive green and grey brown feathers.
