In the forest, there were mushrooms aplenty,
But these were no ordinary fungi, oh no, not any!
For they had eyes that blinked and looked around,
And when they saw people, they'd wiggle on the ground.
The villagers were puzzled by this strange sight,
As they wandered the forest in broad daylight.
They'd never seen mushrooms with eyes before,
And wondered what could possibly be in store.
The mushrooms, though, were a cheeky lot,
And loved to play pranks that were silly and hot.
They'd hide behind trees, and jump out at folks,
Then wiggle their eyes and make them choke.
One day, a young girl came to the wood,
And saw the mushrooms, which she thought were good.
She talked to them, and they talked back,
And before she knew it, she was under attack.
The mushrooms had lured her into a trap,
And now they were dancing on her back.
She tried to get up, but they held her down,
And tickled her sides until she frowned.
The girl laughed and laughed, until she cried,
And the mushrooms, they just wouldn't abide.
They kept tickling her, and making her giggle,
Until she felt like a big, jolly wiggle.
Eventually, the girl managed to break free,
And ran off, as fast as she could flee.
The mushrooms, though, just laughed and laughed,
And said to themselves, "That was a good craft!"
From that day on, the villagers would avoid,
The mushrooms with eyes, who just loved to toy.
They'd stay far away, and keep to the path,
And not give those mushrooms, any more laugh.
