Artist Statement
There’s light at the end of the Burn Out tunnel, and this card is here to prove
it! Inspired by the symbolism of The World card, which marks the end of a
cycle and the start of something fresh and amazing, our reborn character
shows off all the tools she used to fight for her mental health. The paintbrush? That’s art as self-expression. The tarot cards? A connection to
her higher self and intuition. The Cup (yep, the suit of Cups) is all about
processing those deep, sometimes buried emotions. Oh, and let’s not forget
the properly prescribed meds in one hand, while the bong reps the use of
medicinal herbs—because hey, whatever works for you, right? And that
middle finger? Pure courage to set boundaries, kick what doesn’t serve you
to the curb, and finally stop giving a damn about others’ approval. She’s
surrounded by flowers and blessed by animals representing the four
elements.
This piece is a shoutout to everyone who’s been through the dark night of
the soul and lived to tell the tale. It’s a reminder to seek help, find your own
tools, and get back to that sweet, sweet balance. You got this!
