You know how sad it is to see the reality that exists in Palestine today, through this t-shirt I represent as a human being I feel deep sadness for the Palestinian people who have lost many lives, innocent lives, who have not had the opportunity to know this world in peace, who have to experience suffering. with constant attacks hitting their homes and their loved ones. This watermelon is a symbol of the Palestinian people's form of resistance. The colors of the watermelon – red, green, white and black – are the same as the colors of the Palestinian flag. This symbolism first appeared in 1967, when Israel controlled the West Bank and Gaza and annexed East Jerusalem An image of a watermelon was used in the protests, with the message: “If you want to stop us, we will find another way to express ourselves.” This work of art continues the tradition of resistance. Watermelon, anthropomorphized with arms and legs, is shown ready to fight while holding a rock in his hand. The black and white checkered scarf around his head is reminiscent of the keffiyeh, a traditional Middle Eastern headdress that is also a symbol of Palestinian nationalism. Wearing this t-shirt reminds us of them and whose side you are on right now. For the sake of humanity from the river to the sea, Palestine will be free
