Resurrect a forgotten classic with retro-inspired designs.
Just like feathery haircuts, high-powered muscle cars, and roller discos, ringer tees were all the rage in the 1970s—especially within the burgeoning rock ‘n’ roll subculture. With a little imagination, the ringer tee can reemerge from the back of closets to take back its former glory.
What looks best on t-shirts with contrasting collars and sleeve bands? For inspiration, first think about graphic styles that were popular when ringers were at their peak: punchy phrases (like Keep on Truckin’) in bubble letters, retro ads for places and things, and charmingly garish patterns. Or maybe it’s for your favorite imaginary band? For even stronger throwback vibes, consider using bold primary and secondary colors, or making your design look “lived-in” with cream tones, a vintage palette, and maybe even a little grit.
Now, it’s time to step into the ring against this Design Challenge.
