To "Hi my name is":
Let's imagine that you believe some design is not good. You just think that way. What do you do then? Don't you vote because your opinion is based on your belief? Or do you try to see it in some other (better?) way? Is there a better way?
You're wrong if you think contest which has democracy as subject makes people see only their beliefs instead of designs. Let's take an example. Let's imagine I drew nazi flag with swastika in it and made it of the same words as this flag has. Would it be a good design? Would someone wear it? I believe the irony of those same words in nazi flag would give the words more power but I'm pretty certain there would not be many of those who would actually wear that t-shirt. I'm not saying US flag is same as nazi flag but they both are political symbols which represents lots of different things to different people. You cannot avoid of giving mixed messages if you use these kind of symbols in design.
I couldn't wear t-shirt with american flag on any occasion. I wouldn't even wear t-shirt which had flag of my country (which is Finland) in it. It gives really powerful nationalist image of someone who carries flag of his home country in his t-shirt (if it's not some athlete in some tournament in question). Nationalism and fascism walk hand in hand.
That's all. Sorry about this rant.

Sorry about misspellings. I don't speak english as a first language.
"Every mother, every daughter, every son...". Where are they now?
Instead of just saying "I'm not american" I use my freedom of speach and here it goes: This design gives really twisted and sick message to me. USA has used plain violence on it's crucade of freedom and democracy. Where is the free speech of those mothers and daughters who have died because of some bomb or missile which US army has sent to some place most americans don't even know of? Did they get a change to say anything? This is the first thing which comes into my mind when I look at this design. That's why I give zero to this. Sorry. Lots of words in that flag though. Because those words makes a shape of a flag of USA it gives me feeling that those words don't mean anything.
Hmm.. Myspace? 8)
About the furthest arm. It should be ok. I made the perspective with 3D software (Poser Pro) and used it as a model for drawing just to get the perspective right. Maybe the shadows should be stronger in someway but anyways the arm is exactly that size in 3D model. I used human male 3D model for it.

I like how this t-shirt has raised small conversation here. If there were more of these kind of t-shirts, people would propably talk more about this issue.
I'm supporting the idea of the t-shirt but not the t-shirt itself just because I wouldn't want to wear political t-shirt.
Anyways what comes to global warming I hope USA would ratify the Kyoto treaty. That's all folks.
