Mike was born in Redhill, England in 1987 and while he was growing up he lived in a couple of different countries (Holland and Indonesia) before immigrating to Calgary, Canada in 1997.
After moving to Canada he discovered a natural affinity towards drawing and painting and the fine arts quickly became his devoted passion. During these years, with the encouragement of family, friends, and teachers, Mike entered a number of art shows and found respectable success. Upon the graduation of high school he was honored to be awarded the 2005 Calgary Stampede Western Art Scholarship.
After high school Mike decided to funnel his passion of the arts into a degree in graphic design. He decided to attend the University of Alberta in Edmonton to undertake their Bachelor of Visual Communication Design program. During his University years he became very involved within the campus community and was able to maintain an admirable GPA while holding numerous student leadership roles as well as other jobs. He graduated from the University in April of 2010 and now he is ready to see where the next step will take him.
His preference lies within the realm of illustration, but he is also very passionate about general graphic design and photography. Mike is an enormous sports fan and ideally he would like to see his career combine the fields of graphic design and sports at some point. It is his dream to design the identity for the Olympic Games (summer or winter) in the future and while its a bit of a long shot, its nothing a little luck and elbow grease won't be able to achieve.
