  • thanks :) will se how they go over Christmas which is obviously the busiest time for this shop. A lot of them are Christmas cards and cards featuring the city so I'm hoping they appeal to both locals and tourists. If the Christmas ones don't sell very well then I'll send them out to family! :)

  • My Halloween was quiet as it is far less of a "thing" in the UK than it is in the US. They learnt about it at nursery (pre-school) last week, so we got a pumpkin and carved that and my wife made a bat and a ghost with my son, but that was it. We have Guy Fawkes Night on November the 5th so that is when we have our fireworks, so we took him to the city display on Saturday (they usually do fireworks on the nearest Saturday to the actual Nov 5th).

  • I ordered cards to sell in a local shop. They are quite reasonable but it just takes ages to get them all print ready and approve the proofs and get them all delivered (as the company is based quite a long way from me. The cards work out at between 20p and 30p each which I guess is what 35 to 45 cents in US money? That includes a folded card, an envelope and a cellophane sleeve to put them in, to sell them. So that's really cheap compared to a lot of places. Only trouble is I have to "make up" the cards myself (folding the cards and putting them in the bags with an envelope and then pricing them up) but me and my wife did a load of them whilst watching TV the other night. The other problem is that in order to get them that cheap you have to order over 1000 cards (so I ordered 50 each of about 20 different designs). It's a big outlay but will be worth it if I sell them! Plus I shall send a few out to different agencies and shops to see if they would also like to stock some of them or license them. so fingers crossed that works out as I think the only way to make proper money from the designs is to get them into a national chain of shops, or in the case of my science ones, into a museum or somewhere.

  • I sold my first thing on Society 6! Doing a little better on Neatoshop (making about $20 a month on there at the moment, which isn't paying the rent but it's the best I've managed so far!)
