I also think maybe people should give the royalties some time to accumulate. Royalties have only been accumulating for a few weeks.

I'd like to reiterate Sarah's call for a little patience. Using a small slice of data from very few artists to generalize how all of Threadless will work going forward is not going to do anyone any good. As time goes on, a much more well-rounded picture will form.

Alright karead, we can clear this up right now.

I'm going to average all the royalty figures and say $0.50 royalties per shirt. At $.50 per shirt in royalties the artist would have to sell 4,000 shirts in order to meet the $2,000 the artist would have been paid up front under the old pay structure. What is the average number of sales an artist gets on their design?

You missed my point. Data quoted so far is at the bottom of the scale. Using that to generalize is like saying you hate the entire United States because you hated Florida.

next real talk topic: did "slow" really have to be abbreviated?

Consistency, my friend. It couldn't be Slow Now Mow. That's waaaay different.

I'm going to stay civil here, but did you seriously just say hot people deserve to be paid better?
