  • Hey Kidz_Bop_Remix,

I would say that right off the bat your design appears a little pre-rendered. What I mean by that is I would expect to be able to reproduce a number of the elements you have here pretty rapidly with Illustrator or Photoshop. Bits like the swirl in the lower right appear to be straight derivatives of Photoshop/Illustrator tools, and don't lend much to the originality of the work that would otherwise catch my eye.

Moreover, the concept could be more compelling. I'm hugely into nautical stuff, especially nautically spirited messages, but I don't see a huge connection to the saying here in the way the design is laid out. And more, what are you hoping to evoke from the viewer in this design? Is it a message of hope and perseverance? Or dog-eat-dog type of vibe? Understanding that could really push the design in one direction or another.

A few other casual observations that could potentially help:

    • The font choice doesn't seem to resonate very well with the design, and feels too out-of-the-box.
    • The color choice could use some refinement.
    • I would prefer a more "realistic" anchor devoid of the blue gem-like additions.

  • Based on the Morton Salt Girl design of yore, this new take adds some darkness to the catch phrase, "When it Rains."

  • Man, I feel dumb here. I've reread everything and scoured the internet; I'm not someone that typically ends up adding to a forum post to figure this out. No one really says explicitly though, and I don't want to screw up my submission.

When submitting, it asks for a png, gif, or a jpg, fine. So I add a png I have. I also have a swf though, and I add that. When I preview it the preview only shows the static png, and I certainly don't want that to show instead of my swf. I've tried practically everything. What am I supposed to do with this guys? Does the swf just end up showing up anyway? Thanks for your help.
