I'm just curious if you somehow got inspired by my last two designs?
Monkey and the Crane and Unicorn Abduction.
I'd be totally cool with it if you acknowledge it. If it's coincidence, that's cool too, but I am curious. If you want to email me privately, my email is in my profile.
For the record, those two designs are no longer in the running and won't be printed here. The unicorn abduction actually won but Threadless decided against printing to avoid a potential conflict with a retailer to whom I'd showed the design after I had received a release.
anyhow, let me know when you get a minute. I'm not making a judgment, just curious ...

the design is quite awesome. :)
there's a difference between this and the Dark Side of the Garden, in my opinion. Dark Side is clearly a parody and protectible as such. A consumer would NOT be confused and think it was an actual Star Wars product.
This one, it looks like it's something that the Star Wars licensee has created as a new spin on the line. See www.changesonline.com, for some examples of what licensees are doing to modernize.
here's an example from Pac Man:
but there are countless other examples if you walk into a mall here in the U.S.
there are a bunch of things you could do to make it more of a parody, and resubmit it, but as is, it seems like an actual Star Wars shirt. :(

dang, kinda strongly worded there Stuart! ... I really want to give zach the benefit of the doubt because the talent is evidently there.
It does not really make sense.

Stuart (misterretro, fontdiner) will be commenting shortly, for what it's worth.
but the odd thing is, this style is nothing that the Threadless crowd would like ... how many designs like this have ever been chosen at Threadless?
