i dont like the type - this is different from not liking what it says - it looks a little too limited-too, and besides that, the pointy letterforms have nothing at all to do with the image. Also, those little starburst things in there could work if they were better incorperated, but i don't love them now. Cute illustration, though, and a clever idea.

my two cents: i love that it has a surface "patriotism" that turns into social commentary when you look closer, great job putting up something with substance and meaning. i think the inclusion of human figures is importanat to the second reading, and i think that including the soldier's family would really add to the emotional power.

the placement seems off to me, maybe the perspective would be more effective if the design was on the left side. the concept is nice, though.
