    @ Shibooh - LOL, thanks. Part of the 50 comments is a friend of mine and I pestering each other. Thank you so much! it isn't really supposed to be hair, just sort of a really gnarled tree trunk, i guess I just drew it weird. That line work took forever and it was essentially my first time using a manual dip pen, so I'm glad at how well it came out. I'd die if this got printed

  • I have been able to do pretty much all of that and compile my own comics in photoshop elements 6. I don't know how expensive it is where you are, but it is about $60 US here. To do special effects for movement and stuff, I just downloaded brushes for photoshop online, there are a lot of places that let you download their brushes free of charge. I know there are a few programs like manga studio that are made specifically for that type of thing, but I don't know much about them since I have a mac and they only work on windows.
