Why should I switch to Safari?

I used to use Internet Explorer.

I currently use Mozilla Firefox.

What's so great about Apple Safari?? Or, should I just stick with Firefox?

firefox sounds like some sort of stupid plot device in mission impossible 4, while safari actually makes sense for a name for an internet broswer

heykimby

Safari runs faster than FF on my computer. Do whatever works for you, though.

Try out Google Chrome

Runs faster is good...a CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM! YAY.

What's cool about Chrome...besides the name??

Lucretia Mott

Safari is designed with all of these crazy low level optimizations because it's a mac program running on your mac, so everything is a little faster. I prefer firefox though.

Lucretia Mott

Or rather, an apple program running on your mac.

Would my PC benefit from a MAC based program?

...I just know that I haven't gotten any viruses since I switched to Firefox, Rob.

Steve The Great

safari is pretty neat. I don't know if it's as cool on a pc

What is "neat" about it?

Wait, they have Safari for PC? Why? I use Safari cause it's default on my mac and I'm too lazy. I like it fine, I don't know what's with all the haters.

plus it has a compass logo

The top page thing when you first open up is kind of handy/cool. I can see if there's any new videos on youporn.com without having to load the page.

wut.

My girlfriend still uses Internet Explorer and I think they added that Top Page thing, 'cause it has previews of the sites you visit most when you log on...

Stoma

Yes, the newest version of IE shows you your frequently visited sites at start-up. I use IE sometimes and Firefox sometimes. Since all the browsers are always updating and copying each other, I don't see a lot of differences to make one that much better than others. I haven't used Chrome or Safari

Hmm . . . I have used all of these. I tried Chrome for the first time on a friend's computer, and it was amazing.

Three words: Fast, spacious, handy.

But then I got back home and tried it on my crap computer, and it was crashing to freaking kingdom come.

Three words: Bring, Firefox, back.

Since you've used Firefox, I'll only write one pointless sentence about it.

Safari has never been anything special to me. Like some people have said, it's the default Mac browser, so anytime I go online in the recording studio, I use it. It never really impressed me or disappointed me, I guess.

Three words: Only, on, Macs.

I have a mac and use Safari. I've tried Firefox but keep coming back to Safari for some reason. I just like the way things are laid out and it works really well. However as Lucretia said it's optimized for macs and I'm not sure how it would perform on a pc so maybe it's better to go with Firefox.

Eight words: when jaywalker speaks it is wise to listen.

I don't know what that means exactly but it sounded epic.

Funny that Eric would say this . . . I place $500 bets based on everything he says in here.

Uncle_Max

I like Firefox, Opera, Chrome and Safari. They all are faster then IE, all have less viruses than IE, and most of them (especially firefox and opera) have better add-ons. But really, it's mostly up to which feels most comfortable for you, and anything is an improvement to IE.

Thanks for all the input so far...anyone else got anything to add??

So...I should try out Safari 'cause it's name "makes sense" for an internet browser, Ian?

I'm just tired of the Apple Software Updater telling me I should install it when I always uncheck it!
