Polaroids are awesome... aren't they quitting making it for the U.S.? If so this is like a time capsule of the good 'ol days.

shirtflirt

dude you must be super rich

professorE

I was going to mention how much money must be tied up in the film on this project...

the_napoleon

Awesome idea, oh and Nomad, I heard that some people are trying to get some other company to make them. Here is their website www.savepolaroid.com.

very neat.. I really like how it connects all these seemingly random people together with Bob as the common factor among them all.

cripes, I just noticed two blunders and it's not easy to see the close up roid pans.

awesome!

are the polaroids in order of being taken? like, is the main person in the polaroid the one who shows up in the mini polaroid in the next picture...?

Such a wonderful idea, everyone you meet being looped together in a never-ending chain. Brilliant

That's really cool. We are thinking of bringing this concept to our youth department, everytime we have someone new come in, we can add them to the wall. Very cool idea Bob.

BNannas

Thanks everybody! I took 7 more this past weekend at the cake party. I wanted to take more but... you're right, Polaroid has discontinued this film that I use. Hopefully someone else will start making this higher quality instant film... or else I'll just have to figure out another way to keep this thing going...

littlem

bob, you should look on ebay for the film

littlem

you can get it at target? the same kind that bob uses?

looks awesome and yay hey mercedes song!

Malcolm Man

coolsy. Polaroids are like a buck each.

That's like...a lot of money.

brightfever

omg that so fucking cool.
no thats like.. A SHETLOAD OF MONEY. |:

BNannas

Well, spread over 7 years, it lessens the monetary blow.

Sucks that now the film is even MORE expensive. Just bought 100 exposures on ebay so this'll go on a little while longer!

thats pretty awesome.

Love your project. Yeah, there's something special about a polaroid and I think you've captured it in your work. Good luck!

TheDood

There's a childrens book called "Flotsam" based on that idea...awesome book even for adults. It won the Caldecott medal too.

The.Hush.Kat

hella wickedly sweetly sick.

captainveee

Bob - you could buy a really small portable photo printer and snap using digital from now on...slightly slower but almost instant!

You should look into something called Deep Zoom that Microsoft is creating - it could be perfect for the website.

BNannas

Heya! I finally started scanning and posting all of the Polaroids! Woohoo! Check em out! Expect about 2 or so a day. At that rate, they should all be up by Dec 31 2009.
