And with high praise like that, who could resist?

travis76

i'm weighing some options right now...i need 35,000 a year....digital playground (a porn company!) may want me in the graphics dept in cali, and a tee company in west virginia (wtf?) is courting me too. All i know is I need to get the F out of Savannah, but cali seems too far and west virginia, ism well, west virginia....

skaw
skaw profile pic Staff

35k is about what we'll be paying, maybe a tad bit more.

bortwein
bortwein profile pic Alumni

35k a year is relative to the income level of the area you would be living in, they could be offering less, but in that area with their help you could still find a nice place to live.

Looks like Travis might just "ship" himself up there with his resume andknock on the threadless door after that statement from skaw.

little_hobbit_feet

Holy shit, 35k for shipping department?? Or is that a for-travis price?

travis76
travis76 profile pic Alumni

argh! these computers at work won't open the pdf file! i'll try another one....

skaw
skaw profile pic Staff

Well, we haven't decided salary yet, but definitely around 30k, no less than 25

travis76
travis76 profile pic Alumni

well, in savannah, 35k is low with this high cost of living (damn tourism and 'historic district' apartments...i lnow chicago would be about the same, but it might be worth it....

I know a guy that makes a hojillion dollars working in an ice cream warehouse whereas my freind that maintains the computers that store the medical information of half the city of Chicago gets paid in cashews.

The world is run by chipmunks in suits.

JeF

that's what ross does travis, so you'd be in good company.

little_hobbit_feet

holy fricking crap...
ice cream warehouse worker is my new dream job.

travis76
travis76 profile pic Alumni

no..there is actually an 'ice cream commission'...that has to be sweet.

Johnson?
yes sir?
sales of vanilla are down. we need to push vanilla this month...
but sir, rocky road is our best seller and...
Damnit Johnson, i'm telling you to push vanilla! now get me a bowl of neopolitan and get out of my office!

Oh man would I love to work for threadless. sighhhh

Robotron5

The father of one of my friends works for a potato commission, apparently he has legislative rights that allow him to turn up on a farm and demand a sack of potatoes at the very back and bottom of a barn so that he can take them away to be tested for pestilence. Funnily enough he never has to but potatoes ever. Icecream would be cooler though, pardon the pun.

I would seriously consider moving out of Missouri to work for Threadless. I live about 4 hours away, so it wouldn't be too bad for me to move to Chicago. How soon are you guys looking to hire someone? Oh well, guess I'll put in an application...

Robotron5

Hey Wheels, while youre about, are you having problems sending emails on myspace?

_Wheels03
_Wheels03 profile pic Alumni

I'm not sure, I haven't tried sending any e-mails recently.

Robotron5

Nuts ive tried to send a few and it keeps on screwing up says that a system error is making the system see my messages as spam.

That aside, i wish i could work for Threadless, my job sucks but im obviously tooooo far away.

travis76

just got the app. printed...is this for real?- college dropout? how'd you know?

travis76
travis76 profile pic Alumni

oh yeah, but she's a manager at vickie's secret and can transfer anywhere at any time, so....

blucow

While on the subject of shipping...

How long does it normally take to fulfill and ship out an order? Just curious.

tunastar
tunastar profile pic Alumni

I live about 30 minutes away from...Ravenswood :D

tunastar
tunastar profile pic Alumni

Only...once school starts I'm kinda screwed. Garhrgh..

jacob dehart

blucow, usually we do same day shipping, but for about a month after a sale we get backed up, we're just now catching up.

little_hobbit_feet

Oh, hey, and on the subject of shipping:
Do your international shipments all go out at once? I'm not whining, it's just that I noticed that customers in the States were getting their shirts before mine had shipped, and I ordered them within an hour of them going up.
Or was it just backlog still?

kypade

that application is amazing.

I am Barefoot

haha i agree, the app is very nice

_Wheels03
_Wheels03 profile pic Alumni

Yeah, especially the whole finding derivatives part. Damn, I haven't done any math since my freshman year in college. I'm sure it'll all come back to me... I hope.

travis76
travis76 profile pic Alumni

fuck it..it got too busy for me to write my essay...hafta fax it tomorrow- and when the boss ain't lookin'.

Fall Down Go Boom

I live in Chicago.
But do I want to give up my FABULOUS job at the Sugar Shack in Bridgeport?
Burning myself on the fryer daily? Working with broken machines inside a hot, buggy kitchen?

Its application time! :D

yumnoodle

Working at Threadless would be would be so sex!! Tooo bad - too far! Good Luck all!

nevertrustacloud
nevertrustacloud profile pic Alumni

damn,...too far from Europe... Maybe you should create the Worldwide Threadless internship for designers!!! ^_^

strimackus

The application gave me a few laughs. Although, that derivative question is lame. Any monkey can differentiate. You should have put a nice integral on there, unlike differentiation integration is an art, and much more fun as well.

Having said that, I would kill to work at Threadless, unfortunately I live in Toronto, Canada. Oh well...

BuriedAlive

What about from Tennessee? It could work...right?

...wait, child-labor laws. Right, damn it.
