I guess he means, he frequently gets paid to do design work. In which case, fair play. That's professional in the loosest sense. It remains to be seen what kind of quality these designs are, but I look forward to seeing them without prejudice. And being able to drive isnt nessecarily indication of good design sense.

Comment 1: Yes, I am.. why not look up Spoono.com or wait this summer for my portfolio to release? I don't need a car to move around, I have designers I work with around here that go on trips with me. This summer I have a business meeting in New York and next summer I have another in Dallas.
Comment 2: Are you saying the web is lacking because of young designers?
Comment 3: Believe as you wish, but I started with HTML and worked my way up. Why must people go and just shoot down what they don't know?

i can believe that you started messing around with code when you were 9 (i was 11 when i started, 8 years ago), but i wouldn't believe that you were designing sites FOR people when you were 9.

No, I actually wasn't. I got more into client based, non-profit, work a little more than a year ago before I joined the Spoono team. I have done very few true paid clients but all through my mom's company. Still get some cash off of it though. I have a planned internship with Bright Corner when I get out of college :).

the site is there.
I don't know why people have to question a person's age and talent. There are alot of 14 years old who make professional flash sites.

Ryan, I think the reason you are getting so many doubtful remarks is your slightly inflated profile. I mean, if I wanted to stetch the defenitions like you have, I could say I've been doing professional design since I was 7, and experimenting since 2. I think the estimate of doing design for "hundreds" is probably a bit out of proportion as well, unless you are saying that "hundreds" have seen your designs.
I hate to join the cynicism, but I'm afraid that coupling an exaggerated profile with poor design taste won't win you many friends.
Best wishes in your future designs, though.

Hahaha, "non-profit" means for charity. What you mean is you've worked for free, son. Professional, while technically simply meaning you're paid for your work, really is commonly taken to mean that it's your profession. I've been paid for pulling weeds, but it doesn't mean I'm a professional gardener...

Damn, people. Leave the kid alone. A 14 year old mildy exaggerating his accomplishments is pretty normal. A bunch of adults tearing him down for it is really lame. Chill out.

For 14 years old you sure do articulate yourself in a mature manner... interesting. And a planned internship which is about four years away. Interesting too.

In some way it does Kemmler. I do work free for design firms, but I also have simple paid clients that I do business with quite frequently.
Funkasapunk
"design firms".... I don't think firms take on freelance charity... (It looks bad for the books)

you're right... he reminds me of me in a way, except I was into 3d stuff back then, not 2d.
