Seedless water melons aren't GM.

GMO is the reason even more people in the world aren't starving. People need to look at both sides of the situation before just saying that GMO is bad because we all have food.

Funny tshirt. GMO has saved millions of lives, that is fact. Is GMO bad for us? Im not aware of any proof for that. Anyone know of any papers saying GMO causes any specific issues?

Slightly different issue but I've seen the docs about how major companies are controlling the seeds farmers can buy and this is causing a decrease in variety of seeds so all our crops could possibly be wiped out if those seeds had one common problem and the environment changed.

Whilst I agree that GMO aren't bad - I do have to say that they could be potentially dangerous and start causing as many problems as they cause. Just think about the possibilities of cross-fertilisation with other plants and how that has an impact on the biodiversity of that area. Just a point to consider and to use this comments section for what it's meant for;

Really cool t-shirt!! XD

love it

The thing about GMOs is that they are crossing them with plants but with other organisms. Hence the term "Frankenfood". Hybridizing is a totally different process. And when you look at how the King of GMOs, Monsanto, is trying to take over the seed market and forcing farmers out of business...it is a very big deal. Oh, and GMOs are not widely accepted in the world except this country.

Reprint M guy please :)

Funny way of looking a serious subject. Great illustration...Anyone who thinks GMO's have saved lives have no understanding of permaculture. Facts are GMO's have a negative effect on soil biodiversity, which in the long run causes excessive erosion and nutrient deficient crops. In turn, it causes less yield per acre than organic methods. Don't drink the Monsanto Kool-Aid. There are many INDEPENDENT studies showing the dangers of GMO's to us AND our environment. Bees are one of the most important bugs being killed by GMO's, and not many people understand the important role they play in our ecosystem.

No account?
