Don't quite get the poem. My guess is birds are vultures? if so, why not have some vultures on the shirt. Give you a 3 anyway for a cute design.
I don't think he mention about vultures. Vultures are the figures of the western culture. In my opinion he talks about that a mankind's life is short but the birds are flying and they sembolize the life. In another word, the life is so short that at the time we were talking about these here, birds are flying.
I like that it doesn't seem to make sense. I give it a 3.

This is my opinion.
Though it is your opinion, I think you should take a moment to ask the authours permission for use of the lines.
I do like the design, but I am iffy about the lack of permission going on here ...
