not sure why exactly, but i really like this, nice composition, and veyr clean.. not sure if i would rock it as a tee, but at least as a print! 5$
i like it a lot........though i have one quiff (and this is because I'm Japanese and tend to get picky about slightly incorrect thingies).
The attire (and pose) seem better suited for a flamenco sort of thing. That said, a lot of people would consider what she's wearing a kimono but it's far from it. She wouldn't be able to step out that far in a real kimono, and the sleeve designs are more Chinese.
But ignore all that, because your design is still breath-taking! I would certainly wear it, but I just feel that the Rising Sun (a motif that's very Japanese to Americans but may also imply the Yakuza in Japan) and naming it Kyoto don't fit with her pose and the costume.
So beautiful, print me one out right now!!!
*print one out for me right now :)
so beauty work $5
I really like the size of the image and it's placement. 5
i want it as a print!!!!
I appreciate the insight Irish ninja, to be honest I'm not as knowledgeable about direct customs regarding kabuki, kyoto, kimonos or otherwise, But I'm trying to educate myself about the history. All I know is I think the whole eastern styles Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Indian etc. are very cool.
Thanks everyone for the great comments!
very very nice illustration! the big print looks really great.
big is awesome! love it print print
beautiful work! 5!!
I love and adore this. I'll be most dissapointed if this is not printed as a tee.
Holy cow, that's gorgeous.

Oh I'd definitely rock that as a a tee!
i love the placement. gorgeous. $5
I thought flamenco also, but it is still very nice.
Just read up on flamenco, it's funny cause I have done 6 of these as a series all in kimonos and I remember getting to this one and was thinking she seemed more Spanish.
I really appreciate all the comments everyone!
Really well rendered, and beautiful drawing Arrow! Placement looks like shes tickling the nipple though (yes thats my only crit ) ;)
this is lovely 5
just because it is a good illustration does not means it is a good tshirt design.
Would buy it in a heartbeat!
it Looks very nice... Artistic...
Nice watercolor texture $5
gorgeous! i love that it's massive on the shirt...
irish ninja made me think, but i still like it!
the hand does draw attention to the general chestal area though, but that's about it...
it would work as a flamenco dancer too hehe, give the spanish a go! HAHA
haha yea, the hand does tickle the nip a lil.
nice! wish it was a different color tho
It looks good even if the history doesn't agree with me. I'd wear it.
A take on the Whistler Kimono lady?
i really like the style of this, but something about it is bothering me... i think it's her pose. she looks like she is leaning back and getting ready to chuck her fan at somebody.
i really like the style and the illustration.
but something about the fan is a little off to me.

No, I have never have seen that whistler painting, she is based on a character in a comic I have been working on for the past 6 years titled Blackout. You can see a few samples on my website from volume one.
hmm I don see that. She is leaning back in a dance motion, That's what I had in mind at least. But, she could be chucking the fan in a minute, you never know.
Insanely pretty, a delicate shirt with an interesting pose and perspective. Not something i'dwear, but far be it from me not to vote this highly for others to enjoy since it's a fantastic piece.
