Based on the legend of Stingy Jack, which some say is the origin of the first jack-o’-lantern. He carries his single flame lantern, and sports the cloak of death on his endless wanderings. He’s also adopted the visage of the Halloween tradition he is rumored to have begun. There’s a bat hovering over his shoulder- or could it be the devil himself, keeping watch to be sure Jack doesn’t pull another one of his tricks to slip past him into the afterlife?
