About this Design

The image features a person with a painted skull face, reminiscent of traditional Day of the Dead makeup. They wear a black veil with skull patterns and a crown of red roses. The background is decorated with intricate patterns, and the person is depicted in a praying posture with rosary beads. The design has a dark, yet beautiful, aesthetic with gothic and cultural elements.

The “Catrina” skull (a.k.a. “Dapper Skeleton” or “Elegant Skull”) it’s a popular culture icon born in Mexico, in the zinc etching by the famous artist José Guadalupe Posada. Given it ties to the past heritage of the Aztecs and the mexican “Holy Death” deity, the Catrina has become the icon of Death in Mexico (specially in the All Saints’ Day) and now is also popular in other countries (like Spain or USA where is a halloween icon).
