WTC in our hearts
that's a clever design, but i don't think threadles is quite the place for honoring american tragedies.
yeah captain awesome... cus thats a natural reaction? no but seriously, you wanna make a titanic shirt as well... alittle old. but nice thought.
steps to improve this design:
1. build a time machine
2. go back to 2001
3. sell this somewhere besides threadless
I gave this one quite a bit of thought.
The truth is, I imagine, that some people would probably like to wear their strong sentiments (e.g., never forget) on a shirt. Ask yourselves before utterly lambasting R G: should this T-shirt exist for those people? If so, then someone needs to put up the design, and this being America: someone will be making money on it. However, R G, ask yourself: how often would you wear this T-shirt yourself? How do you think a Pearl Harbor day shirt would sell? How about the burning of the White House (War of 1812)? Is this design more about the tragedy's remembrance or about the claim to fame purse of a winning design? If this T-shirt is more about you, then shame on you, and you should remove it. However, if you motives are indeed honorable, then thank you for being brave enough to withstand the misunderings. P.S. Did you have a charity in mind to share in any profits?
As for the design, I found it to be one of the better designs that I have seen for iconifying the tragedy. I put this one up there with the design on the Virgina 9-11-01 license plate. (PS... I live in New York and while we have every MLB on a license plate, I've yet to see a 9-11-01 commemorative plate. The WTC is on the 5 NYC county plates).
Having seen the contraversy over this shirt, I'd probably not buy it - for generally having a distaste of highly-emotionalized people attack the messager when even they don't necessarily understand the message first. And this image isn't clearly one way or the other.
It's not that Threadless isn't the place for the shirt, it's the fact that you will be profiting from a tragedy if this if printed. If the proceeds were to go to a charity it would be different, but we have no garuntee that can happen, and I don't think threadless will just up and decide to do that just becuase you submitt the design.
It is a very nice design, it just doesn't work to sell it.
It should say "I'm falling for you"
i think it's really clever.
and i like it.
i wouldn't wear it, but it's obviously sincere.
i don't think it was made to intentionally piss you guys off.
This is a great design, also Captain awesome is a commie terroist idiot. That is all.
mad cat: Thank you for having a voice here. I know that from your comments, whether I agree or disagree with you in the future, your voice will be worth listening to. I respect you a lot.
get over it.
I love this and would buy it on ANY color 5$
i don't get it. did something happen to the world trade centre?
i feel like this is just out of place...
you guys should know better...
great design, but did it take 5 years to make it??
you obviously have the know-hwo to make a good design, let's try something else thats no so political...
Man, I imagine your intentions were good, the work is great, ure a master in composition, colour and everything, but as a spanish guy i can tell U yhat nobody would design a shirt with an allusion to the train explosions in atocha railway station. Even though, keep the good thing that U're design made people talk, and that finalty is good enough to justify u're idea. GOOD JOB, submit more.
this might have been awesome say, 5 years ago, when it happened. but not now.
