My goal for this design was simply to celebrate my own Threadless experience. I first heard about Threadless through a graphic design forum, became a member of the community back in 2006 and started submitting designs shortly thereafter. Admittedly, my early designs were downright awful. But with every subsequent design and the feedback (good and bad) that I received, I definitely grew as a designer. That growth has made my Threadless experience an invaluable one.

To honor Threadless' 10.10.10 celebration and as a thank you to everyone who has helped me along the way, I collected community feedback from my own and others' Threadless designs and then hand drew those words and phrases into the shape of Threadless' own iconic $5 mark.

The end result is a design that I feel encapsulates all that is awesome about Threadless - community, interaction and art!

I hope this is the blurb they use on the "Congrats! A shirt you voted 5$ for is up for sale!" email. I like this, it's a Threadless designer's design.

I like threadless self-referential designs or however you'd say that.

What is the history of the $5 I don't know what it means.

perhaps changing it to ^5 or High 5 or some variation would give it larger appeal while still honoring the concept of the 5 at threadless

monicanevesleao

what could be more like a $5 than this? hahaha
