Would it be the Red Jaguars? Blue Barracudas? Or, who knows, maybe even Purple Parrots? Hosted by Olmec—everybody's favorite talking Aztec idol—and comically half-hearted adventurer Kirk Fogg, Legends of the Hidden Temple withstood the test of Nickelodeon game show time. It left anybody watching the inevitable feeling that, put in the kneepads of those contestants, they could no doubt breeze through the Temple, evade any pesky temple guards, recover the lost artifact, and earn the much revered and coveted trip to Space Camp. One obstacle, however, seemed to be eye-rollingly difficult for almost every contestant: The Shrine of the Silver Monkey. "It's three $#&@ing pieces! C'mon!" Is the response confidently expelled at the TV by the majority of frustrated (albeit envious) viewers. Me? I'm reserving judgement. With that kind of childhood dream on the line, who knows how mind numbingly difficult 3 simian shaped pieces can be to assemble?
In parody of everyone's favorite Swiss furniture manuals, I present the guide to proper assembly of the Silver Monkey. Will you use it to navigate the infamous Shrine? "The choice is yours! And yours alone! Who's first?"
