I've realised most people don't know that much about Serbia, so what better way than to teach them through a cross-stitch pattern. The top tier depicts the dreadful kaiju attack of 1991. It was a very stressful time for the Serbian people. This depiction is of course somewhat different to actual events as it was captured through folklore. The most fictional element in the scene is the notion that the Serbian army has fighter jets that can safely get off the ground.
The second tier shows the reign of the Holy Magnum Frog. The Magnum Frog came to rule the Serbian people in the time of great rains, which fell from 1735 till 1923. He was a beloved and kind ruler, and would cause hallucinations if you licked him. The scene depicts High Priests of the Magnum Frog Order trying to gather the hallucinogenic substance from his skin.
The third tier shows one of the brightest moments in Serbian history, when Great Lord Cthulhu brought his lady friend over for summer vacation. There were some small misunderstandings with the police at the beginning of their visit as they had not been properly announced, but these were soon straightened out through rapid diplomatic action.
Another motif that can be spotted in the pattern is diamonds, which represent Serbia's rich diamond mines, our main source of income. With history as turbulent as ours, much rebuilding often needs to be done, so resources are always needed. Thank goodness for those diamonds.
Four colors. Could be less but you know, it looks really nice with four.
