you really capured the feeling of the era with the illustration style. great muted colors, and a wonderful perspective.
i love how it takes a second glance to realize the horror of the situation.
damn! this turned out very good man, love the totality of this design. Very nice how this tells us a story. Left placement all over the shirt!!
You sneaky, sneaky little man!
I can't believe how awesome this turned out!! Wait, you are THE grayehound, I should have known you'd blow us all away!
Great perspective, by gawd. There so much mystery & details that I find myself staring INTO the design itself. You have taken t-shirt design & turned it into a fine art.
wow... I'm floored.
make the light part that is the color of the grave in glow ink!
Weird how my initial comment was left off. So this was based on an old urban legend. Victorian views on death and funerals were a bit different than ours. There was a common fear of being buried alive, to the point that there were many patented coffin designs that included warning bells and escape hatches. So the legend is that Poe, long fascinated and terrified by death, was himself buried alive. Only this, and nothing more.
I'll pay a dollar and fifty for this!
- NAW .. I was just joking xP .. Ah gosh, this is one BBEEE-AAUUTII-FULL piece. :D
Unbelievably beautiful. Now go submit it to some hot New York book company as a Poe cover - 5$

maybe this was mentioned above, but i've heard about this when told about the origins of the term "dead ringer." i've never heard of a Poe legend. Thanks.

OMG, this shirt is pure genius! It's an original idea, and it takes irony to a whole new level. Poe would approve.
$5. Lovely illustration.
Great. Well presented too. 5

It took me a little bit to get it but I really like it!
great design and excellent illustration.
i love the detail and the colours and the placement and EVERYTHING...it turned out even better than i had pictured it in my head (and i was visualizing it to be pretty awesome).
Concept and design come together beautifully to make an awesome shirt.
I see a printing in your future.
my first thought was, "hm, poe's freaking out because that spike is coming really close to his face?"
and then I realized, "oh yeah, no one likes getting buried alive either."

I'm so lame. I didn't even notice the memento mori until just now. If there was a six, I'd regret not having voted it. Instead, I'm glad I voted with a five. Good showing.
