Are you proofing the designs on the shirts?

Not sure what you mean by proofing. I have a a 300 px resolution file the has each color separated out into separate non overlapping layers. For online viewing purposes they want a 1200px by 1200px flattened 72px resolution RGB jpeg with an area showing what the design placement will be on the shirt. As far as picking a background color they have a file with a sample each shirt color. The staff at threadless will look over the submission fairly quickly and reject or accept the design. They post the small design and place it up for voting. If you get no votes they pull the design. If you get a lot of good criticism they may pick your design. If you get picked for printing the Threadless staff will need to use your high resolution file and pick the best CYMK ink colors to match the artwork when they print. They do appreciate artist keeping ther layered original full size artworks color separated, as color separating a flattened image is annoying and uses up employee time. You can hit up forums for advice on design ideas and tips on what might not fit into a Threadless style. You still own the intellectual property rights to your designs, but can not contract them to anyone while they are on Threadless. From what I can tell you need 1. quality art that fits the style standards of a Threadless design. 2. Get the design up early so it is viewed more, 3. social connections within and outside of the Threadless community to get it veiwed and voted on.
