It's what they said in the final strip.

anyways this is still excellent
Bingo TimScribble!!! Bonus points to you, sir!
wow, it´s the same concept used in some other competition, maibe it´s a coincidence, but, well...
here is the link:
^the execution is completely different and this one is better than the one you link to. 4
Yeah, I'm not really worried about that other similar shirt design. I know that realistic versions of cartoon characters have been done before - that one's like an anime version or something though which is particularly weird.
I'm just glad it wasn't Calvin peeing on a logo of something.
Oh Calvin and Hobbs!
I looooove this!
Fantastic! Love how this has turned out!
Excellent drawing! $5

I will absolutely love you to pieces if this gets printed!!!!!!!!!!!
I will buy this!!
i love calvin and hobbes, but i feel like in turning them real you've taken away emotional characteristic's that defines them. They dont seem to be having any fun.
im sorry to be rude but i think this is a sad trend in illustration, to strip cartoons of imagination and give things a "realistic" touch.
Totally respect what you're saying, Ladrones. It was my intention for this design to actually play off exactly what you're saying. I was hoping to emphasize how rediculous the relationship between a boy and tiger would be in real life. To do this I wanted to "dull down" the characters to everyday people (animals) who are just kind of standing/sitting around. At first I had planned to show them in action in the wagon but then quickly decided to try and make it as static as possible.
I was kinda hoping that by stripping it down (as you put it) would show just how genius Waterson was at developing his characters. Not sure if any of that comes through, but I completely respect you opinion.
oh yes, i just wanted to get that out there. no disrespect intended.
you obviously have a lot of talent
