Iconic Eyewear, Volume I
Wearers are as follows:
Left column from top down:
Jackie O (Kennedy)
James Dean / Tom Cruise
Right column from top down:
Stevie Wonder (70s)
All are real people, rather than characters. Those omitted will be included in the following volumes II and III.
Rad, man! $5!!
Working on spec again Aled? OMG I AM SO SORRY.
Stevie! I want.
Ahhh, I had drawn concept sketches for this exact design 4 years ago.
Good job by the way
my favorites are Jackie-O and Audrey Hepburn, nice work.
i dig on the really cool hand drawn feel... good stuff fatheed
All you favourite will make an appearance in volumes II and III. Besides - Groucho's specs are too similar to Lennon's to be included in this Volume. And Dame Edna is a character - these are actual personalities, as mentioned in the blurb at the top.
I love it - I know at least two of my speccy friends who would love this. And my eyes have been doing strange things recently, so it's possible I might have to join their ranks.
I love this, the colours are great! $5
i can see this as a print.
I was gonna say Charles Nelson Rilley but you basically have the sunglass version of his in Jackie O's. =)
specs are sex
I like to think mine has a bit more class :)
And when you say 'most of these people', you mean Lennon.
Thanks for the links Kevin. The one you found buried on flickr is the only one with a similar concept, but most people on Threadless will appreciate the subtleties of my design over the slogan name tagging of that design. The other one is just spec silhouettes so there wasn't really any point in posting that one. Unfortunately there are no original ideas - as Adam White said, above - he had this same concept 4 years ago, but I think this one remains different enough from the ones you found.
Me likey! I would totally wear this.
I love the history bit involved in this and hand drawn stylin.' I might say the best tee ive seen displaying eyewear. Rad!
Fatheed- I always think that that line "there is nothing new" is the biggest artistic cop-out in the world. There are obviously new things, and we see them from week to week, it's justnthat this is not the most unique idea. But no one has done it with so much paniche and captured the spirit of the people within their eyewear so well, so sometimes doing something a bit better is good enough for me. I wouldn't wear the other versions of this idea...i'd wear this one. 4$
$5. Loving the work.
wow !! so 5 $ !! and i love Jackie O =]
Wow, those examples Kevin gave are... Nothing like this!
That's like saying that you can't have a design with an elephant in it because it's "been done"!!!
dude you need some ANDY WARHOL sun glasses haha but this i sgreat id wear it
This is so awesome, and SO much better than the other designs people have pointed out. $5 from this guy
Wow, people seem to like it. I was thinking, though, it might have worked with keys but it doesn't work with sun glasses. Mmh.
Oh, now this is cool. Thass what I'm tawkin bout.
I would buy this without out a doubt. PRINT PRINT PRINT.
^"without," not "without out" :/
That is fabulous.
Loving the hand-drawn style of the specs. And I like the way that the names are there so people can investigate, but they are small and subtle enough that they don't hijack the design.
so pumped for volumes 2 and 3... $5$
i can't in good faith leave a comment, since you threatened some poor helpless kittens!
Thank you, everyone, for the nice comments :-)
i wish this would get printed!
its been a month.... done esta vol. 2?
