Help, John Henry!
This is the last of my giant robots in history trilogy. It's about John Henry. It's more myth than actual history, but the legend says John he was the toughest guy around back in the day, and he died of exhaustion while besting a steam-powered railroad spike hammer. It's a great story of human vs. technology. 5 colors on Sand.
Whoa, radical $5
another winner 5$$$$
That steel drivin man looks ready to drive that locomonster back into the cauldrons of hell! Awesome railroad destruction goin on here and terrific finale to your series.
Oh, and the research supports a man actually trying to dig faster than a steam-powered hammer and achieved his goal but killed himself in the process from exhaustion.
wooooh... nice illo... 5$$
wow, it's arm looks like a train! $5

Wow. I just love this whole series, hope they print all of them! $5
Go, Big John!!!
This is just incredible.
YES! This is the most epic one yet. Can't 5$$ it hard enough, but I'll try: 5$$!
Thanks, everyone! Glad you like it...
Thanks, @coatimundi! I hear you regarding his pose- but I was going for a contrast between the turbulent smoke and dust and panic on the ground, and John Henry confidently and calmly stepping in to take care of business.
Woah, this is massive. What a great illustration! I've come to expect those from you though. Good job, this is an awesome design. Go John Henry!
John Henry should be the next big meme. Either that or Robot Trains.
$5 so good
Such a great series. Really nice work.
so good! cool to see this up for scoring!
Ahh this is so good!
I so want to own the RobbieLee trilogy! This one's especially amazing!

great! but for me it would be better witout that man.
Did you not read his description? It's about the story of John Henry and wouldn't make sense without John Henry in it! :p Anyways, still looking fabulous and I am surprised you aren't like way over 100 comments by now!
greeaat one! Wasn't the John Henry also the name of the first robot in Terminator Sarah Connor chronicles?! a bloody 5$
wow, just amazing! $5
Alright, great score! Thanks everyone, and thanks for all the kind words, too. Glad many of you appreciate the story of John Henry as well as the giant robot imagery. If it ever prints, feel free to listen to "John Henry Split My Heart" by Songs: Ohia as a good soundtrack for it.
Great score, can't believe I missed it. Print please?
This is freaking awesome, a delayed $5
Looks like you'll be 3 for 3 on this theme, man!
DejaTee, I disagree, primarily because it's simply too epic to be compared with the likes of the '80s transformers. That being said,
PRINT PRINT PRINT!
This is an epic design. I can actually see all the pitiable, squishy humans fleeing like insects from the steam-powered iron monster...but as the dust clears, a lone man stands there. His name was John Henry.
And as he hefted his mighty hammer, he was heard to say, "I got this."
Can we get this printed as a kids tee?! Who do we need to beg and plead to?! WHEN IS THIS GETTING PRINTED???!!! Robbie Lee is my favorite!!!
ps. DejaTee, the Transformers comic vs. Robbie Lee? He beat 'em in artwork and poop on originality with the story, it's John Henry for pete's sake!
Print it already!
I hate that this didn't get printed! :(
