cool...nice design

Ah, the good ol' days of boombox blasters that used a zillion D-cell batteries and lasted all of three and a half songs until having to refuel again. Maybe if would be a bit more obvious if it was a whole family of batteries, such as smaller ones for remote controls left in the background and a circular baby watch battery as well. I don't think you need the plug and all that for this one, maybe just the side of the boombox screwed off to indicate where the batteries came from. Great and cute idea.

To me, the contrasting styles do a lot of harm to what is otherwise a very solid concept.
