Alas, Poor Yorick!
Alas, poor Yorick! I knew him, Horatio: a fellow of infinite jest, of most excellent fancy. He hath borne me on his back a thousand times; and now, how abhorred in my imagination it is! my gorge rises at it. Here hung those lips that I have kissed I know not how oft. Where be your gibes now; your gambols, your songs? your flashes of merriment, that were wont to set the table on a roar? Not one now, to mock your own grinning? Quite chap-fallen? Now get you to my lady's chamber, and tell her, let her paint an inch thick, to this favour she must come.
William Shakespeare, "Hamlet"
on dakota slate
and it's up ;)
Alas, it is up! The links are busted so here they are again...
Zoom in on dakota slate and on black
i love how the skull is not the main focus of the piece, but the text conforms to the skull shape.
love the text!
i will buy any shakespeare reference - love how it looks and love the text!
text looks great $5
it's finally here!! great job littleg. $5
nice one gen!
very nice genee .. I liek that it doesnt have a real focus to it the skull and teh text seem to have equal importance and teh blood spatter while bright isnt too distracting
oh yeah and ThIs Iz TtLy EmO 4 rEeLz
i've worked with a lot of skulls - and even i had a hard time identifying that at first :/ - - - props on not being totally emo and using the cliche typical skull shots... But.... it's hard to read... - - - i'm sure it would be a real pain in the ass and a crap-ton of work, but for this quote - could you use the text to form the lines of a hand holding a skull (in the typical hamlet pose)?
Hurray for Shakespeare!
i like this a lot G, makes a really nice overall image without having too much of a focus on one element.
shit - i just noticed, basically what wulla said!!
Nice one missy! Love the angle of the skull..and Shakespeare gets my vote every time!
I like the low contrast of it, but what's a Hamlet?
I didn't even know the guy and I feel bad for him. Imagine how Hamlet felt...poor guy.
I agree wih rudra. you have no idea it is refering to Hamlet, unless you read it and I don't want to be standing there while people stare at my chest... but I do like the type treatment.
i dont know how to read so i dont know what any of this means, but i see a skull and some blood spots and i think thats rockin, im going to wear this to the biker club meetings from now on, $5
Just remember Nate, "Hook-ed on Pah-honics wer-kid for me!"
great concept, looks good
I like it, rock it in the Northeast and people will know the meaning without having to read it. Can't speak for the rest of the country/world though...
it looks great. i like that people will have to get very close to my body to read it. NOT! :P
have you ever played castlevania?
cuz Yorick is a skeleton that runs around kicking it's skull.
Great for the jot2 competition,
hope to see more wonderful work from u,:D 5
I dig. 5$
I like the splatter work. Nice job g! 5
when im wearing this shirt (because its going to be printed) im going to trip out everytime i look down and think i stained it with my own blood, and thats extreme man!
Thanks for all the feed back guys. Keep it coming!
tasty blood spatter
Looks steller. The placement is bugging me, though. Center the skull...have the blodd splatter off-center. Or will that make you look like your bewb is lactating plasma?
I agree Mezo, It would be cool if the splatter were going across the shoulder even. I think I was trying to avoid seams. Yum lactating plasma!!
