I've never been much of a musician (though I have a great singing voice :P ) but if you are, then this design challenges you to complete the score. Most of the music has been blown away and it's up to you to finish the melody as you desire. The musical possibilities are limitless with a washable fabric marker and your mood. Regular printing with the thing that makes shirts soft perhaps?

Sorry this is just way way to close to Let Go by ilovedoodle

Lovely!

Yeah.... I thought there would be comparisons with Let Go. Must've made a stronger impression on me than i thought. Still, not a complete knockoff, in fact, this is an entirely different concept, so there! :) Similar but definitely not the same. Thanks for the comments in any case!

Ha, this is kinda like how I am afraid to put that care bear in my design, cause it will bring up issues, even though my design will be very different. I think yours has a similar theme to let go, but it is different enough. I could see this being a print. Maybe if it was printed on a different shirt, it would stand out more with its originality. $4

I was afraid of being plied with charges of plagiarism or something but as I've argued before, there isn't such a thing as a truly original idea anymore. :P Besides, I have tried this on different colour T's and it works best on the blue, the clouds and the notes I mean. ilovedoodle didn't invent this colour scheme, he just used to to maximum effect and I'm doing the same. But thanks for the support anyway. I will do my best to differentiate, differentiate, differentiate in my following submission.

Honestly, once someone uses the incredibly ridiculous argument that "there are no original ideas, so it doesn't matter that mine is similar to another," I cease believing there's any coincidence to their work looking identical to another.

Designers prove time and again that they can not only deliver old ideas in totally new ways, but deliver new ideas you never expected. It's a weak argument that there's nothing new under the sun.

i was going to say the same thing as adderxyu...

as an artist, you are doing yourself a great disservice by thinking that way.

you may also think that this is different enough to 'pass', and sure legally it is, but lets look at the similarities:

girl with long brown hair wearing a white dress (same fashion) red 'flying' object photographic element in white blue tshirt (this is the least of it...)

it seems you very deliberately copied the equation used by ilovedoodle. you're not just being inspired from the original, you've basically created a sequel. the least you can do is be honest about it. there's no point to trying to pretend it wasn't created similarly on purpose...

instead of worrying being called out you should worry a bit more about the other artist's feet you are trampling on. it's just not nice.

Ginette + Adder: Don't get me wrong, I completely understand your stand on this and I totally respect that. Here's the crux though, the beauty of how this place works is you can simply vote this down (not that I'm encouraging it of course :P ) if for any reason at all you don't like the work (i.e. it's ugly, it's a knockoff, it doesn't make sense, etc...)

Suffice it to say, I cannot honestly say I'd be completely happy if someone else 'rips off' of my work (not that there's much, if anything, at this point of course) and so I say, I'll make sure this won't happen again.

Yea.... Oh well.. As I said, it shouldn't and won't happen again. Cross my heart. I'll just write this one off as a blooper eh?

I wish I could turn back time, but I can't. Onwards and no more shenanigans like this. Lesson learned, honest! Why don't someone help with this instead? It's a new piece I'm considering to submit.

Mr Punch

magic...whimsy...great illustration...fantastic submission. really pulling for this one.

No account?
