This design depicts actual events from 1980 that went on to inspire a popular game. The ape did not wear a tie, or have a sidekick called Diddy Kong at this point. Thanks to the people who helped out during the lengthy critique process!
heh. whoops. too in love perhaps?
This is so fresh! $5
Great idea and design, congrats on all the wins!
Much like the madness, it's a winner! $5

Thanks to the people who helped out during the lengthy critique process!
That was me. Well one of them

ah well, win
Haha! Fantastic! $5
And thank you for sharing the wip sketches - as an artist, I found that kind of stuff really interesting!
Work with a 3 ton ape? You shouldn't have to be concerned with barrels, thrown or rolled. That's Allstate's stand. Are you in good hands?
fatheed = my hero + $5.
Flipping sweet MARIO reference, ftw!
Really cool! I really enjoyed the presentation especially the process from concept to final rendering!!
thanks for showing the process as part of the presentation, I found that really interesting. Good design.
great presentation! amazing design! this SHOULD be printed
you've become my favourite threadless designer. period.
I just noticed the Miyamoto on the dumpster. 5$
Yet ANOTHER winner, congrats dude! 5
the only thing is I still think you should have added the bottom guy's legs in at the bottom just to make his body complete as everyone else is, you have more than enough room and it would be a real quick fix. . . but like I said you did an awesome job and it will probably print anyway!
i saw the process on the critique section and i tought "sick".
i really like this, i dont love the colors but it is awesome. and well done with the presentation!
Woo! Thanks for all the ace comments! I know what you mean about the legs, Olie - It's something I gave some thought in the crit, but I didn't want to extend the illustration uneccessarily. It would be easy to add them though.
Would like just a hint of facial features on the builders like you did with the crowd in Foam Monster. Otherwise awesome.
Billy Mitchell and Steve Wiebe would totally rock dis
Bigtime Winner Pants!
I love that this is the first entry I've seen that includes the process. Great submission.
I know that Foam Monster will get all the extremely well-deserved love, but this honestly holds a more special place in my heart based on the pitch-perfect homage to our favorite non-donkey gorilla and mad-cap carnage surrounding the scene. It's one of the best designs I've yet to see on this site, and i REALLY hope Threadless and the rest of its populace agree so I can wear this nerdy birdy shirt with pride for months at a time.

A well deserved Five and a Buy!
This looks great! $5
Wow, so cool! And I love that you included the original scetches. 5$
Nice work! Another print for you.
Very Nice. $5
I'm still wondering when the hell they'll print your pirate shirt. I'm hoping you/they will pull a Jeff Battocletti, and I'll be able to nab that and this.
Wow. I double $5'd this a few days ago, but never commented.
I'm just here to echo all the praise. This is incredible. I could tell when it started in the critiques it was going to turn out awesome. Great job!
This is a print for sure!
Most definitely a print! Excellent work! $5
you just are too good 5
I like these re-done nostalgia shirts. 5.
This would make a good print too. I like the inclusion of the process. 5
5+$ all the weigh
Your're getting rich on this one! 5
Woops. I also scored and forgot to comment.
Like you need it....another print, methinks.
Woot! Thanks for the awesome score and the kind comments one and all!
congrats! soooo great score, and amazing tee!
aw crap! what if your pirate falls by the wayside now?!?
I'm really mad that I missed this in scoring, I wanted to $5 it after seeing it in the critiques. This happens a lot to your designs, I see them in critiques, but not in submissions. Anyway, this needs to get printed soon, this and Infamous Mishaps Throughout History, Foam Monster In Emotional Reunion With Severed Limb (in silver and hot pink), anddd And For My Next Trick. Oh, and just for good measure, Bigfoots Watch In Bewilderment. Seriously, you are amazing at this.
Thanks bud :)
congrats aled! :)
