About my design

by slrove
I didn't put this into the tee type slogan because I wanted to design it. It is pretty much common sense.

My brother has a magnet on his mini-fridge that says this. So, considering it's just a type tee basically, I'm not too impressed since the slogan's been around for a long time.

Nice Idea and cool execution sllrove.

Personally I think, if you come up with a cool copy line, What's the problem with designing it yourself? This site is all about expression and having fun, voters shouldn't just dismiss an ideas because they consider it a type tee.

Al_Veryard, the point is that slrove didn't come up with a 'cool copy line'. That joke has been around for years. Like jpiatt pointed out, it has already been printed on magnets and bumper stickers and tees. And I personally don't think that the letters-cut-from-magazines ransom note design is creative at all. slrove, if you took the joke and illustrated it, you might be able to come up with something worth submitting. (I apologize for my meanness, but seriously, dude! This has been done a million times.)

Hmmm the joke isn't really a novelty anymore. I just find it a little annoying.

I saw this shirt on 12 (maybe more) people all through last year. It was made with cut out magazine letters too... sorry 0

I'm sure tons of "fat people" just can't wait to get their hands on a shirt like this.

I see people at my school wearing shirts with this same slogan...and I didn't like it when I first saw it :C

I'm sorry but I agree with fuzzystrange:

"Hmmm the joke isn't really a novelty anymore. I just find it a little annoying."

Might I add rude and insensitive.

Jen Kober may take offense to this. As well as every other shirt company that has made a shirt with that on it.

Wow, you people are rude. I guess I am out off the loop, I haven't heard it before. But I appreciate the honesty. Unfortunately all the comments were useless except one. The one from heycarmelina was most useful. Next time I come across a phrase of the sorts, I will illustrate it. Because phrases can be used over and over, illustrations are unique. Oh well. At least I learned from one person, thats is what matters to me, the rest of you need to give better advise than something like "Fucked up. Be funny not a douche bag." or "This is a terrible slogan." Thanks heycarmelina. Will do next time.

I like the concept but I need a picture. Maybe like a fat man being shoved into a black van and then having it drag in the back or something.

ecky_ducky: The shirts you linked to were pretty plain and boring. This one is interesting... it's not just a straight, one-colour line(s) of text.

This is an old "saying/joke." And somewhat offensive (for those who can't handle a joke). I like the type concept, and I think it would be spectacular if you made type face tees like this with random "poetic" phrases. But I would not buy this particular phrase.

IMHO such typography is a little dated. it was quite popular during the late 80s, i think.
