I think there are two ideas going on here. It would work in it's current placement and colouring without the 'bang' gun. Or, if you want the 'bang' to be the focus, you need to strip it right back and have that bigger with more space/white around it. And the two guys need to have their facial shadows originating from the same angle. Lots of feedback, but I do think this has loads of potential :)

Agree with the shadows comment in the last post... Bang seems like it ought to be bigger, looks a little too cartoonish for the quality of the people, kinda like slapping some text on a photo in MS Paint rather than Photoshop.

maybe if the guy with the gun had a speech bubble and was singing "Mammy." Just a thought.

I think the design would benefit if i could post a larger picture, so the gun detail could be seen more easily.

I can see what you are saying about the face on the shooter - but this was more or less the shadow dropped from his hat in my mock-up - obviously exagerrated by the use of only two-tone.

I like the idea behind this film-noir inspired image.
I understand the whole shadow issue people have with it but I quite like it the way it is...makes the bang guy seem more sinister!

Am I reading far too much into this, or is the guy with the gun the puppet dude from Batman, which would mean that the guy with the blindfold is (unsucessfully) shooting himself? If it's not them the baddy just looks like a puppet.

Oh, wait a minute, I can see the blindfold guys second hand. It's just that your mobster looks rather puppet-like. Sorry.

I tried to submit a file which showed the different colours I would suggest to have the design on - but being my first submission, I misunderstood it and only submitted the image on the background colour above.

I like the cartoonish bang and the shadow-face. Agree that the BANG should be bigger.
