based on another in a series of works i previously did. only colors are black and white, size of graphic actual is 12.69"x16". alternate version is simply negative colors, design in black on a white tee.

There are those weirdo symbols again (the questionmark flower thing). Why do you keep using that? It's not very good design. You seem to insist on tossing together images and symbols that don't work together. I'd advise you to post your arts in the blogs BEFORE you sub them so you can get feedback without a hurting low score. I'd also advise you to look at design and illustrative layouts. Look at interesting shirt sites (like americanfearclothing.com). Look at high scoring shirts from here. Look at sucessful designs then look at poor designs and decide what it is that makes one work and one fail. Learn from that and keep practicing!

well, i had submitted this design at the same time as the last, and some of my friends had really liked the asterik flower. I had previously posted these designs on deviantart to get opinions, and this had been very popular in my gallery. You seem to have a point though, my new ones (including the other i have up now,) are different.

I'm sorry, but "your friends" are biased. You should take the time to listen to what your "unfriends" say about your designs submitted here. Not only that, but Deviantart, while there are some great sucessful artists there, is also a site where ANY numbnut can submit something and call it "art". Kind of like this site. Which is why I suggest looking at OTHER shirt sites to see what shirt designs work.

it's kind of hard to give too much feedback, as there's no detail view of the design. however, i gotta agree with mezo. i am seeing a lot of stuff thrown out there with seemingly little regard to what makes sense. now, not every design has to be some sort of manifesto, but if you're going to make something that intends to succeed on aesthetics alone, i think the composition needs to be a lot tighter. as far as how to make that happen, i will second mezo again and say all her advice is sound.

hope this doesn't seem too harsh -- you seem to welcome critique which i think is a great thing and can take you far.

actually, that may be th problem with these first few designs. they are based on my culturejamming campaign. also, if you do want to see higher resolution, check out epocalypse.deviantart.com. i post higher res there. I'm trying, you know. I spend hours working on these. I need to fail several times if i ever hope to get better. thankyou for your comments.

Mezo: i'm well aware my friends are biased. that is why they are pushing me to enter designs in online competitions. honestly, I know these aren't the greatest things in the world, but my friends come in and they tell me to submit them and try. I realize i need less partial input as well, but there is something to be said for motivation.

I would just like to say that i LOVE the title of your shirt design for the mere fact that it is an allusion to the novel 1984. I always have a kind heart towards people who are intelligent and witty at the same time. I greatly appreciate your catchy title, so I am automatically inclined to like your shirt. 5 & $

I personally think this is an intriguing design. I probably wouldn't wear it as it is not really my style, but I still think the design is interesting. You could probably try tying details together to make a complete image that makes sense that also has a good flow of detail. Good job, and keep working!

Oh, I get called a troll by someone who is a "Remember, Be Nice" enforcer. The irony is delicious! It's not exactly about being nice or bitchy, snarky, it's about being HONEST. You can interpret my typed words in whatever way you want. I don't think I'm being bitchy, I don't think epocalypse thinks that either....he seems pretty reasonable with taking critiques as for what they are: OPINIONS. Plus, it's not as if I am saying "this shit sucks" or "go away". THAT would be bitchy.

i would just like to clarify that i have not felt attacked by anyone, and do appreciate people's critiques, either way they go.
