I'd like to see as much detail on the narwhal under the water as is in the ship above the water. Maybe not as much as, but at least some. Otherwise, it looks unbalanced.

the giant narwhal is actually a real sea unicorn. and sea unicorns are differently shaped than narwhals. that's why it might look like a manitee, chelly

I like the underwater as is, BUT, the tusk seems a bit oddly placed, as if it's coming from the top of his head rather than his jaw.... fix that and it's $

mezo on Nov 08 '06 The original illustration looks great but as a shirt design, this is not holding up to par. Mainly with the odd cut offs on the sides of the ice and the lack of color. The concept is awesome, but for a shirt design, I think better layout and a different approach is needed.

I adore narwhals and this design is really fun and overall really good, but the body feels too bulky. Perhaps it's the manatee style you were going for that's the problem. I realize you're trying to create a new giant narwhal but it just throws off the visuals. Why can't a giant narwhal look like a regular narwhal? Also the angle is off, as you can see here. Perhaps just having it come out similarly to that pic would make what's under the water unnecessary (it'd be obvious it's a narwhal with that much of it sticking out of the water) and you could stop the design right at the ice. $4 I'd def buy this design if that issue is addressed. BTW the title is awesome. LOL

I agree with the others about the size needing to be reduced. I also think you need to incorporate the shirt title into the design somehow; it's too hilarious to leave out.

If you get rid of the light blue half-circle behind the ship (which to me doesn't look that great anyways) you can add another darker shade of blue to give the underwater part of the narwhal more definition.
