the first time i tried to submit this to the locoroco loves, it was rejected because it "did not seem to have anything to do with the theme," spread the joy. the email i got said i could resubmit it with an explanation if i still wanted it in the locoroco loves competition or i could just submit it to the regular ongoing contest. so here goes my explanation for why it should be reconsidered for the locoroco loves competition... maybe it's cause i initially named it "target rich environment," a reference to the movie top gun... if you don't get the shirt still, it might be because you never saw the movie or forgot that anthony edwards played a character starring opposite of tom cruise who's callsign/pilot's name was "goose." so basically the shirt says "duck, duck, goose," but using an illustration of two ducks and an illustration of anthony edward's character "goose," instead of an illustration of what you might first think of when you thought of a goose. i thought this was pretty funny... maybe it's just me. anyways, the locoroco loves theme did inspire this idea even though it may be less directly/literally connected back to the theme than most submissions to this loves. here's how it happened... after thinking about this loves theme for a while, i started thinking about kids games that i used to play that were fun and joyful. for some reason i thought of duck duck goose (one of my favorite kids games that involve running at full tilt, i'm going to assume every one knows this game for the sake of this explication not getting any longer than it already is) and then all of a sudden top gun popped into my head and the idea was born. maybe it's a stretch for some, but i thought a game like duck duck goose was a great game that "spread the joy." i always remember everyone laughing and having fun running around in circles when i played it as a little kid. really i think any kid's game that involves multiple players spreads the joy to some extent. that's pretty much it... hopefully this shirt will make it into the locoroco loves competition this time and spread some joy of its own.

this is still my favorite top gun reference ever:

I LOVE the concept but the double line makes it look a little odd and unfinished. Make it more polished looking and I'd totally buy it!

Although I've never seen Top Gun, I like your way of thinking! haha (as it is similar to my [crazy] logic :D) cute design, and that's a nice caricature of Anthony Edwards! 4!

i admit i did not get the reference because i've never seen the movie, but i do like the double-line thing you have going on, and its a nice illo.

i love this, especially since top gun is one of my FAVES. the double lines are a little dizzying. i still love it and would buy it. 5$

I read the explanation: now if hurts my eyes and my brain too. Sorry, man, not doing it for me at all.

is it jim dangle? sorry i'm not in the mood to read your long winded explination. its just a tshirt design not a phd thesis for cripes sake. seriously

Haha, I LOVE this one. I rarely give out fives; I so hope this one becomes a selling design, despite people who don't get the reference striking it down.

haha pardon my absurdly long paragraph... i usually like to submit with little to no comments at all. they did ask for it though... and i get a little crazy sometimes.
