i hope this is not too subtle, my friends who knit and/or crochet got it right away. for the people who don't, i did not spell pearl wrong, purl is a type of knit stitch. there are four colors: black, white, dark blue, and either pacific blue or light blue depending on the shirt color.

i think it would be nice if at least some of the yarn had llllll nitches in them to make them more like yarn (perhaps the top bits of the waves). also, hookers (crocheters) don't use the term purl and knitters don't use a hook. but i think those details aren't all that important because the design looks good.

thanks everyone. i tried making the yarn more textured at first, but i thought it looked off because the ship is so crisp. i knit and crochet, but a hook is still standard in most strictly knitter's kits for dropped stitches and finishing pieces. see another font option in my blog
