cute idea, but i was sitting here trying to figure out what each number was...and there is a random 7 on his face (which i'm sure represents skin colour) but i just kind of wish that you only used 1-4 as a kind of threadless pun...or something...but 5$ because this is cute and i'd wear it (despite my obsessive comment about the numbers)

thanks for the comments! stephanie, the 7 is also on his hands as well as his face, because those are the only "skin" tones on the design. if i put a 4, it would look like i'm telling people to paint his face the same color as the grass. believe it or not, all the colors make sense and add up. trust me!! :o)

wow dude. love the work, but not fond of your attitude. you are submitting your work to be judged by the public. even if he meant he didn't like your sub, he is allowed, and infact encourage to do so. hence the word comment. there have been far randomer comments, so easy, it happens. most importantly this site is for designs to be judged by the PUBLIC, not solely designers. people who haven't submitted work has just as much right to state their opinion, and believe it or not, it has the same standing of yours and everyone else.

Feels really kiddy and way too colouring in book to me (funny that)... I'm not sure about the average age on Threadless, but i think it is past that stage.
How about bringing it up an age level a bit by giving an edge to it... whether it be a reference to somthing thats going on in todays world, a joke about gnomes going on holidays... i dunno. It is just missing something. |

This is the same gnome that was in a recent Delias catelog -- only the colors have been taken out and replaced with numbers, like those old-school coloring books...

actually liam youre gonna hate me!! i submitted another design with this "stolen" gnome! sorry it seems like i stole him but i didnt. that delias gnome has a different beard, smaller eyes, yes its similar in its simple style but my gnome was more inspired by this gnome, except i didnt want to give him such realistic eyes so i drew two circles in illustrator.

wow, I was going to give this design a 4 or 5, but after reading all the posts, I'm thinking a 0 would be more fitting. Don't be so defensive, design something from scratch, and I'm sure you'll do better next time around.

it was designed from scratch, score it as you see fit. when someone is accused of stealing a design, then the defenses are going to go up. my design is based on the stereotypical gnome lying down.
there are literally hundreds of statues, cartoons and drawings of this exact same gnome. |
