placement in the left corner (shirt's left, viewer's right) looks best to me. Very nice use of shading. Not sure about the colors, tho.

consider colour changes definately, something more complimenting. i know you're going for gloom but it looks crap on those shirt choices. also, the background shape could be made more organic. |

This struck me as Hawaiian, as well. I think a lot if it has to do with the white flowers set against the teal shape.
