Great art, it flatters our culture. By the way to those wondering about the orange 'shape'. It is Persian writing saying "Simorgh" which means Phoenix. It is intelligently placed in the design.

That's really awesome. My friend is Persian and I read some parts of the Epic (shanama? sp) and I knew of the Persian Phoenix. It looks realllly good and I bet it would have alot of Persian customers too! I'd buy it ;)

Did you do any research for the persian designs, cause if you did, good job. You can never go wrong with research and reference. BUt man, your design is awesome, one the best Ive seen. ABSOLUTELY WICKED and BAHAL! I have always asked myslef when is an Iranian artist (are you?) going to print a t-shirt with old school persian motifs? HERE IT IS! I really like the design-I think it plays well in the mind frame of young westerners who are enchanted my the ancient East in this globalised world that needs more ART and creatvity and less WAR and stupidity.
Suggestions: What is on the back of the t-shirt? don't leave it white. hage the same desing in a very small size (e.g. like an icon) printed on the middle of the neck line. - I am not sure about the pink and orange colours of the flower's interior. And the orange farsi script? Try a lighter shade of brown. The orange is to strong. Play around with the colours. FUNKY NICE. Barikala! When is it coming out on print? Hope soon. I am buying it. |

Huh, here I was gonna complain that the flame didn't look fire-y enough. Did not even notice the calligraphy till someone pointed it out. Guess my only concern is, who is gonna realize this beautiful thing refers to the phoenix? Maybe do what someone said and put the logo small on the back too, but w/ the word PHOENIX spelled out for the benefit of the Westerners among us?

To Bortwein and a few others who seem to think the comments are fake I must say there's a thing called 'promoting your design' which I have been able to do successfully. I have posted my design on my weblog and several high traffic sites (with mainly Persian readership) and managed to get it out to many people to see. That's why new users who saw the design there and liked it are signing up here to vote for it. I'm going to write a blog post on my threadless blog and explain further. In the mean time if you still have a hard time believing this you can try asking threadless to give you the IP list of all the commenters. |

Gosh some of you guys are just so pathetically jealous! Legofish's design is beautiful and for all of you who think the IPersian addresses are fake, then think again. Just as he said, he's promoted his design, and rightly so.. because a design as such shouldn't go un-noticed. Those who became a member in this website were not forced into becoming a member here, rather chose to become one. Threadless does not specify that you have to be a long-term member in order to vote, it only says that you 'must' be a member to vote. If you don't like what you see, I suggest you skip it, but if you find yourself giving this design a rating of '1' for no other reason than out of jealousy, I must say you're a complete loser. I scrolled through this marathon of glowing comments with disbelief - almost no constructive critisicm, just mushy praise. What a sense of relief when I hit tesco's comment, and then others. Now I don't feel nervous to say that I do not like this design, and indeed, this is quite similar to something you could buy at Mandee, or Forever 21, etc. It's generic, not to mention jumbled and poorly composed. Sorry.

Hey Denticulation, i think the problem is not the design, is your poor understanding of elements that make a good design, so don't feel sorry if you don't get it. you can always start to learn more about good artistic elements by borrowing some related books from the closest library. This design ROCKS!

Not sure how I feel about this. At first impulse, I'd want to buy it, but when I stop to look at it, I ask myself, "What would this shirt say about me?"

I like the orange bit; it looks like both the start of the flame and, as the designer said, it spells Persia in traditional script.
I don't like the placement much, and wish the head of the phoenix was at the other shoulder crossing the shirt to the opposite bottom corner (thereby covering the entire front with detail). |

Denti, this is not an art forum and I haven't posted this design here to look for "constructuve criticism". As far as Threadless is concerned the voting/commenting system is there to gauge people's interest in the shirt and get an idea of how it would sell. And judging by the comments, there's an awful lot of people who want to buy it.

This is one of the iller designs I've seen today. However, the fact that I'm not Persian, and more importantly that I have nothing to do with anything that could even be remotely considered Persian leads me to think that I have no desire to purchase this shirt.
Great design, though. Move it down a little bit on the shirt and you may or may not have a keeper. |

It is really very very nice.it is a combination of the new age and old classical design.Phoenix is an iranian bird myth and the designer has a good taste to mix it up with the poweful lovely design showing its magnificense.I like it so much and doesnt matter it is late for scoring.

I’m actually very picky when I’m buying something like a t-shirt. But this one is actually the one I would defiantly buy….the design is absolutely outstanding and elegant. It’s colourful, cool and confident. Its strength is its simplicity. Isn’t the Combination of the black and the orange colour just beautiful? That’s what we can call it “cool for ever”….well job done!
