After the last submission I decided to remake it into this. Concept keeps the same: Form is Content. I have the idea of making more shirts like this, writting "lorem ipsum" in a expressing lettering way, just type a experiment, no readibility goals, just fun and visual entertainement.

I would *love* a Lorem Ipsum shirt, but I don't think this one does it for me... the colors aren't appealing to me.

AzrimEkim on Sep 27 '06
The design looks amazing, but what exactly is "Lorem Ipsum"? Also, I think this would be the type of shirt that people are constantly stopping the wearer to read.

Looks really awesome, but again, the colors are too bright and cause pain in the retinas x_x

I use Lorem Ipsum every day, in every design. But its kind of a dorky reference. I'm not really proud about it. Maybe that's just my problem.

I'd love the have a shirt with the Lorem Ipsum refrerence, but this isn't quite doing it. Maybe because you can't read it(and not meant to be able to).

Your work is awesom... I really like this text composed as a drawing, you give us two levels in the same shirt!!
Superexpresso
Superexpresso on Sep 28 '06
All the people that said I CAN'T READ IT, or IT'S NOT LEGIBLE, should first read the description the guy did.. "no readibility goals, just fun and visual entertainement"..
What a useless comments.

I like it, the colors and the composition.

Stunning - and i get the idea behind the 'readibility goals' thing... but i would much prefer it if it said something. The design, tho beutiful, is hard to read and not having a witty comment of piece of poetry as a kinda 'reward' for sticking with it seems a little harsh.

alex trochut on Sep 28 '06
Thanks for the comments! About the message and readibility... Lorem Ipsum is a fake text meant to design with no content in the text, so people pay atention to the execution not what the text says. That's what this is, a type experiment to bring letter shapes to its extrem between expresion and readibility. Readibility its a rule that has to be applied to almost all the designs, but I this one, a t-shirt, I didn't want this rule to put boundaries in the the design, it's just a shirt... come on...

If it was simply for visual entertainment, why bother writing anything? I shouldn't have to defend my shirt because people won't be able to read it. Please. No more of this. You are obviously artisticly talented and don't need to be feeding us the same design concept over and over again. I LOVE your color choices and your edginess but give me something more!

helloklaire, why don't you go buy a book and read that..
You can do it over and over again.

Cracking type. Its intricate nature shows skill way beyond the usualpoorly laid out type i see. I like the colours and the placement, would definitly wear. One for for the more discrening consumer maybe?

Please, everyone criticising the message: relax. As Alex simply but clearly said: it's just a t-shirt. And hey, we all got you are designers, but you don't need to show trying to give a rational meaning to every single graphic you see.
Sometimes, easy things like these are ok just being fun and non-sense, even silly. By the way, do you really need to explain what all your t-shirts mean to people? Maybe I'm crazy now but... do your clothes always need to be meaningful...?
As per usual, great work Alex. Congratulations.

Great retro feel, and that's some typography to be proud of :)

This tee is cool as hell! the lettering rocks and the colors are slick!
If i had a ice cream shop this would be the uniform for all the roller waitresses, and if I ever fuck Chloe Sevigny, i'd be wearing that.
