I haven't been drawing for very long and am just learning Photoshop... so uh yup... this is my first Threadless submission (minus a sappy love letter). Good comments, bad comments - both are appreciated; I can learn from it either way.
As for what I thought - I liked my concept, wished my pencil sketches transfered to computer graphic better, and I debated long or not whether to put the design on a Kelly green shirt. I had a hell of a time converting to a .gif and is really dinked with the colors (especially the template purple). Don't know.
You could improve your design by adding some sort of background. The figures seem somewhat lost on the shirt and although there is the indication of shadow underneath one paw of the dinosaur, this seems somewhat awkward. And if you try out in Photoshop some different background colours you would easily spot the little spots that are surrounding the monsters, removing them would keep the focus on the design - now I'm wondering if the dino has a cold or is about to be attacked by some white speck ;) Anyway, the idea of suspense is nice.
I really do like the dinosaur. Compare it to the zombie, though, and it does seem like two different people created them. I think you're off to a great start, though.
Visual Research - I was flipping through Bill Waterson when I did the Dino, Edward Gorey on the Vampire, and the zombie/alien were on my own. Somehow I need to mediate what I see into a consistent style. Very cut and paste... guess thats what happens when I cut them out and paste them together.
