This is a design in response to Pluto being stripped of it's rank as a planet this last week. More info here.

It needs to look icy and cold like Pluto is

( frozen nitrogen and frozen methane).



It reminded me of the moon.

I've only seen one other pluto design since Thursday when they officially demoted it. I'm eager to see the different ideas on the same topic. Sorry Wilde, but personally, I like to see the variety of creativity on a subject. :)

Oh, I gave it a 5. Personally, I'm glad we get some designs based on the same subject. It means I won't have to score something high just because I like the concept more than the actual illustration, because I'll have more to pick from.

Hmm, I have searched online for pluto images that even give the slighest Icy look or feel and I have found none. Seriously, pluto looks nothing like out moon other then the fact that it's grey and cratered. If someone could give me an idea of what they mean I would love the input

Time for all of you to get your facts straight. Pluto isnt grey. Its brown, except for 30 percent of the surface which is black as far as we know. That black is believed to be nitrogen and methane in a frozen state. The only image of pluto there is, besides it being a spec to the hubble telescope, is about 2 inches wide, at extremely low resolution, and it is brown. Every other picture out there is not real.



On the other hand about the shirt the idea is okay but all I see on this site is computer generated images, what happened to pens, paint and scanners guys?

Dood, you do not have to prove your intelligence by getting riled up at people on the internet. Threadless is about designing original artwork to be critiqued and judged by your peers. I'm pretty sure Darth Vader doesn't isn't in to gardening and I'm also sure that if you shoot yourself in the head blood comes out not pink butterflies. Seriously, it's taking the fun out of Threadless. I don't mind criticism, I enjoy it. If you have a idea toward improving a design or and idea about tweaking concept then post it. It's a freakin t-shirt!!! As useful as the knowledge is "That the black is believed to be nitrogen and methane in a frozen state. " I really don't care and a brown pluto would not make any sense on a t-shirt.





As far as pens paint and scanners, to submit a design you are limited to four original colors. Computer art is much more precise on sticking to a 4 color limit. Plus it has to go on a shirt anyway, so a vectored image is easily converted to a silkscreen.

it would be funnier if the other 8 planets were all playing kickball or something but wouldn't let pluto play... because playground exclusion and teasing are ALWAYS hilarious!!!

or maybe a ride at an amusement park with a sign shaped like a planet that says "you must be this big to ride" and all the other planets are going except for sad-ass pluto who is too little.

or perhaps a line at a bar, and the bouncer is poking pluto in the chest saying "hey! planets only, loser!"

oh yeah... and i don't like the eyes and mouth or the phrase at the top, you should fix those somehow (sorry that's pretty vague, but i'm no desiger.)

Pluto could use more detail - it looks like it make have simply been live-traced.

I couldn't really tell those were his (hers?) eyes at first. Something could be done to make them stand out a bit more, just not sure what.
