Hera - Queen of the Olympian deities. The daughter of Cronus and Rhea, and wife and sister of Zeus. Hera was mainly worshipped as a goddess of marriage & birth. The peacock (a symbol of pride) is one of her sacred animals. Hera was reguarded as the most beautiful of the immortals & her worship is actually far older than that of her husband. It goes back to a time when the creative force we call \"God\" was conceived of as a woman.

I agree with *lyevil. I like your Medusa logo the best of all your designs--it would lool great on a t-shirt. Medusa is one of the coolest characters of mythology. I don't like the line of the Hera face contour--it seems badly drawn and there is something weird going on with the eye. I want to see your Medusa logo on a shirt! Gorgon please!

i really like this design, but for the first time a blurb has put me off. Claims that Hera is a far older deity than Zeus have no basis in the evidence, they are built in backwards from all of that stuff about the 'sacred feminine'. wish fulfilment = bad archaeology...
Also, Aphrodite was quite famous for being the most beautiful of the goddesses (a cliche of Athenian drama), actually besting Hera and Athena in the famous Judgement of Alexandros (Paris) which led to the Trojan War.

I can't take credit for the "blurb" - it is just a summerized paragraph from multiple sources I used on Hera. I can't say it is totally accurate, however most of my sources were very similar in their descriptions of her - so I just went with what I thought was right and with what I liked about her.

Great design, but I think you can make a few refinements to the face (especially the eyelashes and brows). You can print this with finer strokes. That said, very pretty image and I like the color ideas you have going.
