Perhaps the "from" isn't strictly necessary, but I do think it sounds better with it. For example:
"Only YOU can prevent fires burning down the forest" But then, I doubt grammar rules are going to seriously affect scoring here :) |

Actually, the from is not redundant.
You are either preventing "rockets flying into the sun" or preventing "Rockets FROM flying into the sun" I know all my nerd friends would point that out to me constantly. |
