Love'in the characters they are way cute but i am going to have to agree that the oval just is not workin all that much for me.

Thanks for the nice comments! What do you think would be a better idea, if no oval? Would a different shape work better? Or maybe if I filled out the rest of the bodies, and just had them? What do you think?

Great illustration, but i wish the sketchy lines were darker. Maybe not against a white background? Something

I like the oval too, because it evokes old family portraits; so does the sepia tone.
I like it on black, but would probably like it better on brown. And it's cute! And wrong! Which makes it a winner for me. |

cool idea- i think the oval works, like its replicating those ovaly framed portaits your grandmother has on the walls of her staircase. anyway i really love it!

i really like this, I almost wish that the oval was more explicitly an old-fashioned picture frame, but it is lovely as it is too. Gives me a calvin and hobbes feeling.
